It has been a whirlwind Winter and Spring at EVYPW and it is shaping up to be an equally busy Summer! May brings so many new events and classes.

Join us in cheering on our 10K runners: Amanda E, Julie V and Joanna K who will be running with Christina in the Sporting Life 10K run on Sunday May 1st @ 8:00am. This is the culmination of a lot of hard work! Go Girls Go!!

Zumba starts this Sunday @2:30pm and then again on Monday @8:45. Participants please remember to bring your water and your CLEAN INDOOR SHOES.

Pilates Flow on Mondays combines the stretching of yoga with the strengthening of Pilates all built around the foundation of Nicole’s specialty – pure movement

Nicole and Christina are party girls at heart and are so excited to celebrate all the beautiful women of EVYPW with an Afternoon of Pampering on May 7th. Great food, Great wine, great services, great women....who could ask for more?

We are so excited to open up a second class of the Pilates Circuit in order to keep up with the interest

Christina is looking for new couch potatoes to introduce to the fun of running in the new session of Couch to 5K

Summer Schedule Begins

Our Winter Spring Schedule comes to a close on Saturday April 30th and our Summer Schedule begins on Sunday May 1st. Please note some slight changes to the schedule. The Monday Economy Class will be pausing for the summer, there are slight adjustments to the start times for evening classes on Mondays and Thursdays, Nicole is introducing Pilates Flow on Monday nights, Christina will be teaching an Ashtanga class on Wednesdays @6:00pm in place of the Hatha Flow for the month of May and there is an addition of the Pilates Circuit classes on Saturday mornings.

An Afternoon of Pampering

Just in time for Mother's Day. Come and bring the women in your life for an enjoyable afternoon at East Village. Golfer's Spring Training

with Nicole Ablack-Ramkay

Dusting the cobwebs off the clubs, shining your shoes and finding all your lost balls are not the only things you should do to jumpstart the 2011 Golf Season. Join Nicole in this instructive and useful class that combines the disciplines of both yoga and pilates to improve the mobility of the spine, loosen tight hips and shoulders, resulting in the an increase in the power and precision of both your long and short game. Participants will receive a home program that can be used the whole season.

Its that time of year people! Spring means CPR recertification. East Village hosts this 2 hour recertification for its teachers and invites anyone else who would like to get their CPR recertification. Finalized date determined.

New Couch to 5K Session

with Christina Drain

Do you want to run but can't pry yourself off of your big comfy couch? Come out with Christina and discover your fleet feet and the feeling of the wind in your face. This course is designed for the ABSOLUTE beginner runner! Running progressively longer intervals starting at 1:1 (that's 1 minute running and 1 minute walking) You could do that! Followed by a stretching and relaxing Yoga Class.

Tuesday 6-7pm followed by Kundalini Yoga from 7-8pm

Help us build Mother’s Day Baskets for Teen Moms

Unit Commander Tom McIlhone of 43 Division is requesting the assistance of the local community. The 43 Division Community Police Liaison Committee is working with Rosalie Hall, a shelter for unwed mothers, to prepare Mothers Day baskets for them. Rosalie Hall assists young females continue their education while caring for their newborn child in a safe and caring environment. Your assistance is needed in the form of donations to this important program.

The following items are suggestions for donations. Cosmetics, bath soaps, towels, shampoo, brushes, magazines, diapers, baby wipes, baby cream, pacifiers, crib sheets, baby clothes and blankets.

Bring you donations to the studio and we will deliver them on your behalf or donations can be dropped off at the 43 division front counter (at any time) at 4331 Lawrence Avenue, East of Manse Road in Scarborough.

Community assistance with this initiative is greatly appreciated. Items will be accepted until Saturday May 7, 2011.
